What is an adventure course?

  • Courses are self guided
  • Participants are required to complete an orientation training before proceeding
  • Participants can traverse all course elements at their own pace
  • Participants are always in view of Treetop Zoofari staff
  • Admission to Treetop Zoofari does not include Zoo admission
  • You are not required to purchase Zoo admission to experience Treetop Zoofari
  • No reservations required unless you have a group of 10+ 

What do I wear?

  • Closed-toe athletic footwear required (No sandals, flip-flops, crocs, slippers, etc.)
  • Comfortable/athletic clothing
  • Camera with security straps welcome
  • Small, lightweight bags or fanny packs welcome
  • Long hair must be pulled back
  • Sunscreen and bug repellent recommended

When is it open?

  • Monday-Saturday (Closed Sundays)
  • Open at 9:30 am
  • 3:30 pm last admission Monday-Friday
  • 4:00 pm last admission on Saturdays

Which course should I choose?

Treetop Zoofari Course

  • 54″ +
  • 8 years +
  • 2-3 hours long
  • 250lb max weight limit
  • Chaperone may be required (see Chaperone rules below)

The Treetop Zoofari is the largest and most involved course located at the Park and as long as you are at least 54″ tall and 8 years old you can experience the thrill.  Treetop Zoofari is designed for the entire family.  As you traverse the canopy walk plus multiple high stakes challenges and large zip lines at 40 feet above the ground there will be choices given along the route.  These choices are the difference between easier and more challenging routes.  Fly more than 600 feet across the zoo’s lake and zip by tapirs, rheas, and toucans. This course takes between 2-3 hours to complete depending on your skill set, time of day, and how busy the course might be. Last admission is 3:30 pm.

Junior Explorer Course

  • 40″+
  • 4 years +
  • 40 – 60 minutes long
  • 250lb max weight limit
  • Chaperone may be required (see Chaperone rules below)

Young adventurers will travel through the trees as they pass over tightropes, Indiana Jones bridges, through barrels, and nets only to top off their adventure with a 60 foot zip line.   The challenges are all tree to tree and range from 5-12 feet in the air.   This course takes at least 45 minutes to complete. Last admission is 4:00 pm.

What are the chaperone rules?

Treetop Zoofari Course

  • Participating chaperone required for ages 8-15
  • Chaperone is anyone ages 18+
  • Chaperone/Child ratio is 1:5
  • Participants ages 16-17 must have chaperone on zoo premise

Junior Explorer Course

  • Participating Chaperone required for ages 4-6
    •  Chaperone is anyone ages 18+
    •  Ages 12+ may be a participating Chaperone if parent designated and parent is present on Junior course grounds
    •  Chaperone/Child ratio is 1:3
  • Walking Chaperone required for ages 7-15
    • Chaperone is anyone ages 18+
    •  Chaperone/Child ratio is 1:5
    • Free

Do I need to complete a waiver?

  • All participants must complete a waiver
  • All those under 18 years old must have their waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian
  • Fill out your waiver in advance and bring it with you to expedite your check-in process
  • One driver’s license or military ID is required to be filed for group in exchange for harness rental

 Course Rules

  • ALL participants must complete and sign a waiver release agreement Sign a Waiver online 
  • Participants under 18 years old must have their waiver completed and signed by their parent or legal guardian Sign a Waiver online 
  • Participants must pass a training session before being permitted to begin any course
  • No participants permitted to begin any course without proper safety equipment
  • Participants must be securely clipped into the red safety line at all times
  • Participants must follow all directions from Treetop Zoofari staff
  • No horseplay (ex: jumping, bouncing on the course)
  • Taunting of animals, zoo guests, or other participants is strictly prohibited

Safety Regulations

  • Violating any course rules or safety regulations will result in removal from courses
  • Both courses are physically challenging and weather can be extreme
  • Drink plenty of water prior to beginning, there is also two water stations located along our Treetop Zoofari Course
  • PREGNANT women are strictly prohibited from going on any of the courses
  • In the event of severe weather, follow all directions from Treetop Zoofari staff for safe evacuation
  • Take your time on the course, we want you to have a fun, safe, and rewarding visit
  • At any point on the course, participants have the option to ask Treetop Zoofari staff to get them down

Payment/ Refund Policies

  • Payment may be made by business check, currency or Visa and Master Card.
  • Wristbands will be issued to all participants and must be visibly worn throughout the park
  • Removal of wristband results in invalidation
  • No refunds will be issued once a participant clears the Training Area
  • No refunds will be issued to anyone removed from the course for failure to follow safety regulations
  • If the course is closed due to inclement weather, no refunds or rain checks will be issued
